I choose to work in the field of psychology because I am dedicated to meet the behavioral healthcare needs of its community. It is my goal to provide a continuum of high-quality behavioral healthcare. My treatment philosophy is rooted in a recovery model that provides individualized support and through evidenced-based practices. I believe that people can work through all barriers and have a productive quality of life. For some individuals, recovery is the ability to live a fulfilling and productive life despite a disability. I believe that treatment leads to resilience. I define resilience as the personal and community qualities that enable us to rebound from adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or other stresses, and to go on with life with a sense of mastery, competence, and hope. I believe that an integrated, individualized client centered treatment program, in combination with the appropriate social supports can help individuals, and their families gain mastery over their life problems. As a health professional, I am committed to the human capacity to change, and to partner in the improvement of one’s quality of life. I am committed in providing the best evidence- based care available to clients, and to continue to strive to seek, and learn about all avenues of appropriate care. Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.
